DESCRIPTION:The Family Resource Center of Truckee hosts its 10th annual D a de los  Muertos event Friday\, November 3rd\, 5pm   8pm at the TTUSD District Office at 11603 Donner Pass Road.  \n\nThis tenth annual festival features a dance contest\, face painting\, traditional Mexican hair styling\, music and snacks. Local students will share altar displays. \n\n\n\nD a de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Latin American holiday that celebrates and honors departed friends and family members. On this day in Mexico\, the streets near cemeteries are filled with decorations of cut paper\, flowers\, candy skeletons and skulls\, and parades. Families remember those who have passed on by preparing their favorite foods and creating altars.\n\n\n\nThe Family Resource Center of Truckee (FRCoT) invites community members to celebrate cultural diversity at this free\, family-friendly event and to join in honoring citizens and agencies that support the FRCoT's mission.
