SUMMARY:How to Run For Office Workshop #2
DESCRIPTION:After the success of the first How to Run for Office Workshop\, The Truckee Chamber of Commerce and Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Political Action Committee (CATT PAC) are excited to announce a second workshop focused on campaign strategy. Potential candidates are invited to join us on Friday\, June 21 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for a campaign strategy and fundraising workshop.\n \n\nThe workshop will feature interactive sessions covering:\n \n\nPart 1: Why Run\n\nWe will start the workshop with one of the most important questions a future candidate should ask themselves: Why do you want to run? Presenters will create a conversation around how to talk about your plan to improve things for constituents\, whether you have any conflicts of interest\, and reasons why voters might choose to vote for or against you.\n\nPart 2: Workload Expectation \n\nIn this part\, we will discuss the expectations surrounding campaign efforts and service efforts required of the candidates. Being an elected official is a time commitment but running for office can often feel even more overwhelming! \n\nPart 3: Campaign Strategy\n\nThis extensive segment will cover various aspects of campaign strategy\, including messaging and theme development\, crafting the Candidate Statement of Qualifications\, budget and outreach planning\, and fundraising strategies. After a break\, the focus will shift to building a volunteer team and executing outreach efforts. \n\nPanel Discussion \n\nWe will conclude our second How to Run for Office Workshop the same way we did our first one\, with a panel discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to ask current and past elected officials how they got elected\, what it is like to serve your community and anything else that might prepare them to take on the role of an elected position in our region.\n \n\nWhether you're a seasoned community advocate or someone considering a leap into public service for the first time\, the How-to-Run-for-Office Workshop offers a welcoming and inclusive space for all aspiring leaders. Space is limited so sign up today!
