SUMMARY:Truckee Special Events and Quality of Life Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Truckee and Truckee Chamber of Commerce invite you to join us for a Community Workshop on special events and quality of life in Truckee. This hands-on workshop will provide an opportunity for you to weigh in on what aspects of special events are most important to the Truckee community. Additionally\, the Chamber of Commerce will introduce the new annual Truckee Quality of Life Survey\, a baseline study to measure citizen sentiment and core values.\n\n \n\nDuring this hands-on workshop\, community members will have an opportunity to weigh in on how Truckee will balance the benefit of special events such as enhancing arts and culture\, outdoor recreation\, and economic benefit with the potential challenges such as traffic congestion\, road and trail closures\, environmental degradation\, and constrained parking.  Community input will help direct updates to the Town's special events policy. \n\n \n\nThe Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID)\, operating under the Truckee Chamber\, recently launched a special events grant program to support events taking place during the shoulder season and midweek periods. The Town and the Chamber are collaborating to ensure that the event strategies and procedures are closely aligned and reflective of community input.
