100th Anniversary Celebration of Donner Summit Memorial Bridge 1926 - 2026.
The 100th anniversary celebration and re-dedication ceremony for the historic Donner Summit Memorial Bridge (Rainbow Bridge) will take place on Sat. Aug. 22nd, 2026. The free, public event features a classic car driving tour along the old Lincoln Highway and a special presentation of the original 1926 dedication
 

  • 10:00 AM – Classic car and driving tour departs from the Historic Auburn Courthouse (101 Maple Street, Auburn, CA), following the scenic northern Lincoln Highway route over Donner Summit. [1]
  • 2:00 PM – Official Re-Dedication Ceremony at the Donner Summit Memorial Bridge near Truckee, featuring local historians and the original bridge dedication plaque. [1, 2]
