Logging Railroads Trestle Tour

Logging Railroads Trestle Tour

Join the Truckee Donner Railroad Society for a driving and hiking tour of the century-old Hobart Estate logging railroad, including railroad grades, collapsed trestles, remains of log cars and much more. We’ll have maps, old photos, and stories to help you imagine what it was like to be a Truckee logger one hundred years ago. Part of the driving route is on unpaved roads, so an SUV or other high-clearance vehicle is advised. The tour includes 3-4 miles of hiking, split into several segments. Bring lunch, layered clothing, and good hiking shoes.
