National Library Leader Presents "Public Libraries of the Future" Talk in Truckee

Friends of the Truckee Library is thrilled to host Susan Hildreth, a national authority on the evolving and critical role of public libraries in communities across the country. Hildreth will be speaking on “Public Libraries of the Future."

The event is a fundraiser for a new library in Truckee and will begin with a “meet and greet,” beverages and delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Marty’s Café and Provisions. Guests can also enjoy informal tours of the new Emigrant Trail Museum with State Park staff.  Hildreth’s lively presentation will emphasize the role of the library in sustaining the educational, economic and civic heath of a community and will be followed with a question and answer session.

Truckee has long supported its public library and this is a wonderful opportunity for those who love libraries and appreciate the values that a vibrant, community library represents.  A dynamic and beloved community library says a lot about the community in which it lives.
