Commemorative Emigrant Trail

Commemorative Emigrant Trail

About Us

One of the most classic rides in the Truckee area, follow the route of the original pioneers on some wonderfully consistent single track. Travelling through a variety of high sierra terrain, from the rolling pines and prairies, along creeks and ending at Prosser Reservoir this trail truly has something that everyone will love. Great for beginner and intermediate riders alike; this trail has perfect singletrack that runs from multiple trailheads leaving from Tahoe Donner and Hwy 89 just north of Truckee, making for some of the best cross country riding around. The Emigrant Trail boasts some great sustained mileage; stretching about 15 miles from Hwy 89 out to Stampede Reservoir making for a perfect, long out and back.

Distance: about 20 miles out and back
Elevation: about 1000 feet change over entire ride
Trailhead: Donner Party Picnic Area is primary starting point, also in Tahoe Donner off of Schussing Way
