Non Profits: Arts, Culture, HistoryChamber MemberOrganizations (theater, dance, advocacy, non-profits)
Fox Cultural Hall is a 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission is to inspire, teach and build our rural communities through equitable access to the arts and arts education. Operating under the name Arts For The Schools for the last 40 years, we are now operating with a new name, and in a new home, Fox Cultural Hall. The hall is a 325-person capacity performance and event space located in North Lake Tahoe.
Founded in 1984 by Terry Yagura, Arts For The Schools (now Fox Cultural Hall) sought to address the decline in arts programming in schools - one of the unintended consequences of the 1978 ratification of California's Proposition 13, which drastically reduced educational funding statewide. As a result, schools in the region now rely on Fox Cultural Hall to provide arts education programming for over 10,000 regional students each year.
Our student programs include the Performing Arts program, the Visual Arts program, and the community school program.
Our four community programs include onSTAGE Live, arTRAIN, the Mural Project, and the Mexican Heritage Festival.
