About Us

The McConkey Eagle was created by Hansi Standteiner as a memorial tribute to professional skier Shane McConkey after Shane’s untimely death in a ski-base accident in 2009. Hansi and Shane’s wife, Sherry McConkey collaborated on the design and the placement of the sculpture.
