About Us

The mission of the Sierra Small Business Development Center is to create a strong regional economy by providing technical assistance and access to capital for small businesses. We understand that the prosperity of the Sierra Nevada is largely built on the backs of small business owners. Our goal is to help you build your business, find capital, create jobs and contribute to a prosperous economy in the Sierra region. Our no-cost direct consulting services are focused on helping you create a feasible business model, assess business opportunities, determine financial needs, identify potential sources of financing, and design an effective strategy to market and grow. We are all about equipping you with the knowledge, tools and skills to start, grow, and sustain your small business.

Through direct consulting, workshops, and other programs, we enable businesses and hopeful entrepreneurs to improve and expand. Topics we offer assistance in include: loan readiness, access to capital, accounting, branding, marketing, business plan, financial planning, succession planning, acquisition, sales, and more.

The Sierra SBDC is partially funded through a grant from the Small Business Administration (SBA). Additional funding comes from other public and private regional partners with a vested interest in economic development.
