About Us

Fed by the waters of Lake Tahoe, the Truckee River flows past Tahoe City and past Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, parallel to Hwy 89S until it curves to the east and flows through downtown Truckee, then on through downtown Reno, finally ending at Pyramid Lake.

The beautiful Truckee River is appreciated by campers, hikers, and bikers. When the river is high enough, the Truckee River is a popular rafting and tubing area. Rafting companies service this area and individuals and groups also bring their own rafting equipment.

The river is also enjoyed by fishermen and picnickers, accessed by the bike path along 89N between Tahoe City and Squaw Valley and at Truckee River Regional Park, where there are full barbecue and picnic facilities and grassy areas adjacent to the river.
